hello my friends and happy monday.
yes, i know…it’s a picture of a door. i had forgotten how slim the 365 photo opportunities can be this time of the year. but it does capture the light pretty. and it was a nice thing to see right after i emptied the cat litter.
it’s the little things friends.
anyway, besides the obvious excitement of my window blinds, i thought i might share with you some of the other ‘not to missed’ events of the weekend.
i decided to redo my dining room tablescape.
instead of just doing a single bowl or arrangement, i decided to try to do something similar to a display that kelsey and i saw at pottery barn.
i like the way the light bounces off the mercury glass. and i love having splashes of green in the house this time of year.
the only problem now is that i want to repaint my dining room gray. but shhhhhh…don’t tell my husband that i said that because there are approximately 147 coats of red paint on the walls now. coats of paint that my husband painted. at my request.
but look how lovely this is….
anyway, enough about that. and on to more important things….i made pancakes yesterday.
and i worked on my project life album a little.
mostly though i just walked around in circles after saying goodbye to my girl…she went back to school yesterday morning.
it takes me a day or two to get back into the groove. but i talked to her a little bit ago and she had a great first day back. she has an awesome schedule this year and is excited about her classes.
so between that and the pretty sunshine today…well, i say it’s all good.
hope yours was good too.
love, kelly
Love the new arrangement and I won’t tell on the new paint color. 🙂 I hated to see all mine go too. I get it!
i knew you would my friend. xo
Ah, it’s always like you’re right here having a chat. Needing beauty after cat litter. Ha. Oh, you make me laugh. Gee, I do like that grey paint. I know. I won’t mention it. Winter. It’s my favourite season, I struggle to hold on to that today with our “heavy rainfall warning,” not words I want to read on the weather station but hey, it would say “heavy snowfall warning” a lot if I got to write for it. Your girl’s gone back to do her thing. Be gentle on your dear self this next few days. I have my do what I say face on. Hearing that face? Good. And the table looks lovely. Okay, good morning to you. Pam oxoxoxoxox
Lovely new arrangement! I, too, love touches of green inside in the winter! Take your time, pamper yourself, and things will be in a grove shortly!
I do really LOVE the table decoration – it fits so well — the glass shinning and the green color is indeed what is needed during winter months.. The arrangement gives me some ideas to work towards fro a still life shot – thanks.. Your daughter’s photo is lovely she is pretty… Have a super week..
Hugs
Ah, yes. Having a child in college. Just about the time you get used to them being gone, they come back. About the time you readjust to them being home, they leave again. So bittersweet. But it’s a great time of her life, and I know you know that.
Haha! I have red paint on my family room wall. Did it because it opens to the kitchen which is all white (sort of like an operating room). I remember getting 5 different quarts of reds (they didn’t have little sample jars when I did it). I always figured in decorating, paint is “cheap”……but after 5 quarts of “samples”, I’m not so sure. I did find the perfect color in a Benjamin Moore, and it has been on that wall for 14 years. It did take about five coats though….something about red paint. So I’m chuckling at your post.
Your daughter is adorable and she looks like both of you.
I’d love to walk past that tablescape every day. Nice job! I rather like your deep red walls, but I understand the need for change too. It’s only paint. 🙂
