Well here we are again. The end of the month. And as always, August has shown me why it’s one of my favorite months of the year.

August light = magic.
Many of these photos made their way into my memory keeping projects this month.
The minute I saw this digital stamp in the August 2019 Digital Kit from Ali Edwards, I knew I wanted to use it with the photo I took of my girl with the dahlias. I printed my journaling on vellum and attached it with little brads. Then I added a few flower embellishments because that’s who I am as a person.
I love how this layout turned out. (I guarantee that this will not be the last time I order 12×12 prints from Persnickety Prints.) But mostly what I love is having this memory preserved in such a lovely way.
For this layout, I used the September 2019 Stories by the Month Kit to document a few of the little stories about life in August. I always love the opportunity to capture these kinds of snippets about ordinary life.
And finally, I used the Play Story Kit to document my little day-trip to Powell Gardens. In the spirit of not making things harder than they need to be (one of my special talents) {wink}, I created a layout of words & photos tucked into pockets. Because sometimes that’s enough.
I love looking back over the photos and project this month because the truth is that I am totally dragging my feet when it comes to bidding farewell to summer. Partly because summer isn’t done with us yet, at least in my neck of the woods. But probably more so, I’m not done with summer yet. I’m not done with the longer days. I’m not done with watermelon and cantaloupe. I’m not done with flowers, and butterflies, and hummingbirds (oh my!).
OK…I’m sorta done with the humidity but that’s another blog post for another day. {wink}
Anyway, if it’s all the same to you, I’m going to hold onto and celebrate this late-summer season just a little longer. And as always, I am so grateful to be able to share all of its special magic with you.
Happy Friday friends!
Love, Kelly
