it was all i could think about as we pulled into our drive yesterday afternoon.
it was one of those glorious, late winter days here in my neck of the woods. warm and sunny. and no wind. my house was a wreck, cat-hair tumbleweeds everywhere. but it totally didn’t matter…
i just wanted to get outside and in the garden.
it’s not like there’s really all that much to be done right now. i pulled a few weeds here and there. deadheaded my pansies a little. but it was so good to be outside soaking up the sun. listening to the cardinals singing back and forth. enjoying some quiet and solitude. finding some space to process all that has happened in the past week.
as usual, time on my knees in the garden was incredibly therapeutic. i went out with the hope of having some time to talk to God, or more importantly, take some time to listen to God. let Him speak to me through his Creation. and it was exactly what my weary soul needed.
truth be told, i am a little frost-bitten around the edges, but i am grateful for the warm sun. and i am holding fast to the hope of spring and more warm days to come.
peace, kelly
