i don’t quite know for sure when i got out of the habit of taking pictures of people. maybe it was when my girl went off to college…my muse. and i was so desperately worried that i wouldn’t have anything left to take pictures of, that i went the complete opposite direction and began taking pictures of my flowers and anything else that didn’t move.
at any rate, as much joy as my garden brings me, this month for my photo 365 project i decided it was high time to turn the camera towards the other source of joy in my life…my people. document my loved ones in the big and small moments of my everyday life.
it’s like anything, the more you pay attention, the more you see. so very glad i took this month to practice seeing my people.
I love your people! 🙂
What wonderful people and photos of them! They tell a story of a family full of nice people I would like to know.
I also love your people. Great pictures.
These are such wonderful shots! I was just looking through our family photos, realizing I do not have any recent pictures and thinking about how to get everyone comfortable with me having camera in hand. Gotta try for sure. Thanks for the encouragement.
As so many of your posts usually do, they put into words exactly the things I am thinking. When my kids were still at home, they were about all I took photos of and I so miss capturing every expression and smile. And, like you, when they were gone, I turned to taking photos of different things and sort of forgot about the people! Now with three grandchildren, I’m getting back to remembering how much I loved people photos. Love the casual, everydayness of your photos, Kelly. It gives us a real peek into your life. Thanks for sharing them!
